Life is a Highway - it’s the journey, not the destination

Saturday Science

but first a quick catch up.

Wednesday we went into Doncaster for the farmers market, decided to wait for James as he was going to make it home earlier than normal and it meant he could drive ;) Market was really dissapointing tbh, only about 5 stalls in total. We did come away with some yummy sausages though and some fruit from the regular markets.

Thursday was the day of the London trip. We were up at 5am and the kids were in a good mood. Trip down was fine, but took ages due to traffic. Also didn’t help that lots of people were sleeping and we had 2 bouncy kids!!

Arrived just before lunch and took the tube to the Natural History museum. Kids thuoght it was all fantastic. Teh dinosaurs were the biggest hit especially the robotic T-Rex. I especially enjoyed looking at all the mammals as I actually recognised them and could be all knowledgable about them !!! We were knackered after going round though and didn’t get to see everything. journey back was fine too. Wouldn’t do it again in a hurry mind you ;) but it was an experience!!

Friday I was so tired. We didn’t do much at all I don’t think.

Today was a tidying day (*sigh* aren’t they all??) and we all did well in the areas we decided to do. We now have a dining table thanks to me ;) This was so James could do science experiments with the kids using the Sonlight science stuff I got. So after lunch he set to work with them doing the ping pong ball experiment (because someone stuck a dent in the ball!) and a balloon rocket thing. I dunno, I was out!!

Made pizza for tea. how come when I’m in a hurry it takes me ages to roll out pizza and stick toppings on it? But today when I’m organised I can do it much easier so tea is actually early!! Felt really proud of myself for doing homemade chicken nuggets yesterday too. Pity about the rest of the crap my kids eat!! (actually they’re not that bad, but not fab either!)

Tonight I’ve just finished my assignement for my OU course so I’m feeling chuffed with myself about that. James is watching Black Hawk Down which is such a depressing film so I’m trying not to watch :(

  1. I bought a cookery book yesterday to try and improve what our lot eat. It’s going to be an uphjill struggle i think….

    Glad you had fun.

  2. I’ve got ‘The Dinner Lady’ which is great - by the lady who inspired Jamie Oliver to tackle school dinners. Recipes are given in quantities for 4 and 96, which really appealed to me. Sad, I know.

  3. A few of the farmers market bods will do delivery on orders over a certain amount - so you could always put an order in with me (and Kris as it makes sense to order in bulk) and pick up next time you’re over this way.
