Life is a Highway - it’s the journey, not the destination

about life in general lately. Have been much more positive since Christmas finished, didn’t realise quite how much it was all getting me down. Still, it’s over now and a new year tomorrow to look forward to. I’ll do the 5 thing soon, not quite got round to it yet.

Been getting up early and trying to get on top of the house. It can be such a tip if I let it Anyway, it’s been working. I’m manageing to sort through stuff although I can’t say it’s all tidy, we’re on the right track.

The idea is also for me to get up early so the kids follow suit and, as a result, go to bed easier. Have spoken to Alex who thinks it’s a good idea if I sit and read on the step while she goes to sleep. So we’ll try that for a while. If they can start going to bed earlier I won’t mind so much sitting there. It’s when it’s 10pm and they are still bouncing that I have a problem!! Thanks for the comments yesterday anyhow

Must go as tumble dryer finished. Have already made soda bread and banana muffins this morning, plus have some pizza dough rising. Am making pizza’s for a party we’re off to tonight. Not too sure whether I’m looking forward to it since I called FIL a twat the other day - eek!! Fell out with them Will update tomorrow

every night she’s the same. She’s scared, she needs me to sit with her, she screams if I don’t. When will it ever bloody end? She’s 4 now, it’s been going on years! It’s not like it’s pitch black up there, we leave the door open with the landing light on and she has Marcus in with her. I’m so bloody fed up of this

This is what Alex got for Christmas from PIL. Any ideas where I can put that in my house??? The bloody thing doesn’t even fold up or anything!!! Have set it up in the living room for the moment, although still needs batteries.

Oh and it’s snowing loads here. We hardly ever get snow here, so as soon as the kids get up, we’re off into the garden to play in it. Might try and bury the bowling alley while I’m at it….

Lol, been panto day today. It’s the local Sheffield dramatic group so no famous faces, but we do enjoy it. It’s sponsored by Asda and they do a sketch in the middle wearing all asda outfits and throw dough at everyone. Good fun!! Marcus and Alex both managed to go up onstage for the end musical buckets game and it was really nice to see Marcus looking after Alex in a big brother kind of way. Alex did have a strop after a bit and I had to rescue her, but never mind

Kids enjoyed Christmas. Got way too much stuff as per usual, but they loved it. Can’t say the same about myself, been on a bit of a downer lately and not right with it, although I have tried. Have fell out with PIL. Marcus hates me and Alex is currently upstairs screaming. *sigh*

Want to get back to normal, whatever that may be.

about leaving Xmas shopping this late I just have no idea what to buy now and am worried we’ll just go over the top! Alex wants a Dora doll and some Christmas lights (wtf??) and Marcus asked for Hot Wheels suff. Have reserved a Dress up Dora at Argos but have to get into Rotherham tomorrow to pick it up as wasn’t available anywhere else. Parkgate would have been much better but anyhow. Might send James.

Not sure about getting Marcus a Hot Wheels set, simply because my mum has bought him a set. So am having to have a think for him. Oh and we need to buy a fish from somewhere.
