where’s that
secret blog for grumbling about OH’s??? I need it NOW!!!!!!
We’ve had no other interest in the house this weekend and we’re thinking about accepting the offer of £82K. This is the bit I start getting nervous at as the next step will be a survey and goodness knows what that might turn up. Actually, the potential buyers may have changed their minds, who knows? They’ve been on holiday for a week or something and are due back tomorrow. Just want rid tbh, but also want as good a price as we can get. *sigh* Hate this already!!
The reason James is annoying me about it all though is that since we got that mega high valuation of £95K he’s been all dreamy eyed about getting a new car. Now, me? I’d go for a decent diesel that will last us a few years, nowt fancy or too expensive. He wants a 6 grand Skoda VRS thing. Hardly gonna be economical on trips cross country. The whole thing just makes me want to cry. I explain to him how I feel about him and his car obsession and it goes in one ear and out the other. He sits and listens witha Homer Simpson expression on his face and next minute he’s drooling over the Auto Trader website agian. It’s bloody doing my head in. The other thing is, of course, we didn’t actually put the house on at that magical price, but he still thinks he’s gonna get what he wants.
And we don’t particularly want to rush to buy a new house up here and he doesn’t particularly want to wait to buy a new car. So I just know what will happen, he’ll get what he wants - he always does. he’s like a spoilt child. Some fab house will come along and we’ll not be able to get it because it’s just that little bit over our budget cos it’s already been spent on some shitty heap of junk that will already be losing it’s appeal.
:( Am fed up.

Oh Kirsty
I so would be in your shoes if Steve didn’t have the job he does, right down to the Homer Simpson thing … what can I say?
Hope you decide about the house offer though, and that if you decide to take their offer, that the buyers are still interested and it all works out.

There is something to be said for men and their ’spoilt-brat’ complex. DH often gets what he wants with us coming distant second. I would feel the same as you do right now.
(((hugs)))

We bought our house last year knowing that we also need to be thinking about a new car. We decided house first because owning a house will help you get a car-loan, but owning a car won’t help you get a mortgage! Any chance of him going for a deal whereby you get the house first and then he can spend a little bit more on a car because you can get a car-loan? Or any chance of that working as a delaying tactic?
Hope it all works out anyway!

Dunno C, what is it about camera lenses that people like so much?
You could get some bloody great hats for that money though ….
Hope the house-selling goes well Kirsty, thinking of you xxx

((Kirsty)) know just what you mean…. aparently the vehicle we need with our HUGE family is a Mitsubishi Delica which is a huge people carrier. And then he wants a Subaru (well, this week anyway) for his own car and I can keep the Yaris.
It’s a man thing….
