counting?
does anyone have any good ideas for how to drum in counting to 20 into a childs head?? Marcus just cannot get his head round it. We’ve done some dot-to-dots today which went down ok, but figured I’d ask if anyone had any good ideas that I haven’t managed to come up with yet.
Oh and anyone know of any good printable dot-to-dot pages? I shall have a scoot round google later if I get chance.

Smiths do some good dot to dots up to 20, we have one or two of them. For counting I just did the boring old count everything crack (M&Ms are good, if she could count them she could have them!) and also did a number washing line with the numbers pegged on and sheets of smilies to match up with the numbers. I think Rainbow Rock has something for counting too (as probably do most kid’s “educational” software) She has just about “got” it this last month and somehow I sort of suspect it’s in spite of rather than because of anything we’ve done

D is still pretty unreliable past about 14 although he *can* do it, he rarely does
He is more able to recognise numbers written down now though so I think that could be a way to assist in learning them somehow…
