for this week. The past 2 weeks have been so not normal by the end of it I had 2 really awful children. Although we had a couple of trips to Magna last week which were really good so I’m making a note of it! There is a Wallace and gromit exhibition in the foyer bit and we all made some mini films and played around with the animation computer games. I think the kids got quite a bit out of it so worth the trip.
Housemoving was an absolute nightmare. All the paperwork and legal stuff went through fine but the actual clearing out and moving was just awful. Not helped by havign 2 kids underfoot who were hyper from too many sweeties and junk food and at the end of a 2 week stint away from home. Anyway, done now.
So I had high hopes for a nice calm week spent at home doing some quality stuff with the kids. It’s not been bad but certainly not what I wanted!! The house is just so crammed full of junk now since we moved the last lot of stuff and I just don’t know what to do with it all. It’s slowly going down but underneath it all is a filthy house and I just so want it clean and sparkly! Am very concious of having guests next week and could do without a scary house, esp as they are seeign Joyce after us - what a comparison!!
So, Monday I was up early and spent a nice early time with Marcus reading his Action Man comic. Marcus then spent some time drawing some pictures of vehicles the goodies and baddies could use. Alex woke up late and I can’t remember if we all did anythign of note!! The kids watched a video at some point and I tackled the vegetable plot which is looking awful! So high in weeds. Shall update garden blog soon. In the evening we went with James to look at a new car for him and as we were waiting Marcus decided he wanted to play with some kids who were outside (it was in a culdisac with a grass bit in the middle). he just went straight up to them and asked to play. I think they were a bit bemused!! He’s so good at mucking in with complete strangers, I was really proud of him. Alex is not nearly so good surprisingly, but maybe she’ll get better as she gets older too.
Tuesday I decided we needed to sort the kids rooms out but they needed storage boxes so the morning consisted of going to Argos to get some. Why does it take all morning to do stuff??? I’ve no idea, it’s not even that far away! So in the afternoon we cleared their rooms. Well it wasn’t *all* done in a day, but we finished it up today and they look much better.
Today I was up way before the kids which was nice. Managed to do a few chores before they got up and started breakfast (which also takes forever!!). I’ve filled out forms for Marcus to start football training in August and also for both of them to do a summer *camp* of football one week in July. Not sure if there will be places for the camps but we’ll see. Shoudl definitely have the place for the weekly training though so Marcus is very excited about that. Have also enquired about a gymnastics class for Alex as this is what she wants to do, not sure if we’ll get her in but we’ll see. Ought to really look at swimming lessons some time soon.
After breakfast we walked up to the park and to the post office and shop. Both kids asked beautifully for a 1st class stamp from the post office. They really are getting their confidence up. Not that I really have to worry about Alex much!! This afternoon we’ve spoken about compasses and which way is North and then we explored the farm for a bit. Everything is blooming now, so many flowers to see. The kids are getting really good at identifying stuff.
And that’s about it for now. I know I need to upload the Kessie pics, shall do them soon.
