Life is a Highway - it’s the journey, not the destination

All quiet

not getting round to blogging again. We’ve been doing ok round here though. We went to Kinghorn beach at the weekend and had a lovely day there. After 8 years of your nearest beach being Cleethorpes you really appreciate nice coastal towns ;) We did a bit more PYO’ing on the way back too. Making up for all the years we never went!

On Sunday we went to Callendar Park which is in Falkirk and free, so two positives ;) It was way too hot though so we didn’t stay long. The house wasn’t open so we’ll have to go back another time to look in there. Preferably when the schools are back!! Came back via Asda where James insisted on buying a 10ft “paddling” pool. He obviously didn’t put enough hot water in to warm it up for the kids so they weren’t too impressed at first! Monday was better as the sun managed to warm it up for them and they had a pretty decent play.

I found some wild raspberries round the back of one of the barns and so we’ve been picking and eating them. Alex and Marcus are in their element! Just found some more today near the veg patch but can’t quite get to most of them because of the thistles :(

Today we walked into Stenhousemuir to visit my friend. Was really hot so we all had loads of ice lollies and more play in the paddling pools and a nice day in all. Also managed to join the library so we can go there more often now. It’s only taken us 5 months!!

My jaw hurts cos I’m addicted to some chocolate cornflake cakes that James got from Asda and I can’t stop eating them. I really must try harder!!

Hoping to go camping this weekend here which I’m quite looking forward to. Hope the weather holds!

  2. Have you really been there five months now!
I used to go through Kinghorn train station on the way home from university - sometimes you could see seals when the train went past the coasty bit - but that might have been near Burntisland, can’t quite remember.

  4. ooh, looks like a nice campsite, let me know how you get on. I’m really wanting to do a tour of Scotland next year in the camper so need some recommendations for campsites :)
