ROFL!

I know we have a big-ish house now but this made me rofl.

We were at Callendar House today and were in the big Georgian kitchen. One of the ladies all dressed up asked if the kids thought that poor or rich people lived there and they said “poor”. She then asked if their house was as big as this one and with all serious Alex just nodded her head!!! Rofl!! I wish!

sorry

for the blatant sympathy vote thing yesterday. Had a bit of a crap evening. Feeling like I’m at the end of a phase in our lives but I can’t quite see past the point it changes. I can’t imagine how life is going to pan out. And the bit that I can see, up until we move, is very very trying. All packing up, which we’ve started but is such a big job, getting snidey comments from my brother and not knowing if we’re reading too much into it, and just feeling very tired from it all. James is extremely unhappy which I hate seeing. We were thinking of going in a couple of weeks but I’ve said no to that even if I could probably do it just because I don’t fancy packing a house up in a couple of weeks again and I don’t want to be one to go against our word of staying till we said. Karma and all that.

Kids are being ok, they know about it all now and although Alex is slightly unhappy about it I’m sure all will be fine. Desperately trying to keep some routine and education going on as if I don’t I can see me looking back on the year and wondering what on earth we did all the time. Bloody hell Marcus is 6 now, we should be doing *something*

Anyway off out just now. I have some good stuff to blog so shall try and do that soon.

Well, in short, we won’t be staying in Scotland much longer. James has just had it with the job, the hours and all the crap so when I mentioned that if the job wasn’t going to work out that I would rather have another job back in Yorkshire with our families he’s been set on the idea. I think he’d have stayed up here if I’d wanted to, but it seems daft since we have nothing much up here and we miss our family and friends terribly.

So, I think he’s working till November (we don’t want to land my brother in the shit really since he did help us out so much. Shame he’s a bit of a wanker), but he has a 2 week holiday in that when we’re off to a youth hostel with friends and for Alex’s birthday. Wasn’t sure he’d make it, but glad he is now. The week before that we’ll spend at my mums and try and get a job I suppose, oh and a house!!! I really should be panicking about it all, but I’m not. I guess I’m quite happy we have the luxury of being able to just up sticks and leave. Joy of not owning our house I suppose. We always have our caravan too, and we can “holiday” on my mums drive with it. Although that doesn’t sound pleasant in November!!!

So anyway, just thought I’d post where we are with it all. I’m ok with it, but have been feeling a bit down lately but I think it’s more to do with having to pack up the house again! We’ve more time this time, so I anticipate more decluttering and getting rid of crap. So not looking forward to it!

Stella and co arrived yesterday on a stop off from being waaaay up North. Was lovely to see them all and really nice to see Alex and Kpie getting on really well. Tbh it’s quite weird seeing Alex being bigger than people, I get so used to even younger children being kind of the same size! Thanks for coming, was lovely having you!

Everything feeling a bit weird lately. Job not going too well for James and he’s extremely down at the moment. I will blog properly soon if I get chance, but will probably be passworded. So it’s making everything else down a bit. Serves me right for having no problems at mudpud camp and feeling really happy. Always likes to bring you down does sods law!

Hopefully meeting up with another HE person from Falkirk tomorrow, and another within walking distance! They’re all coming out of the woodwork and it seems there’s quite a few round here now. I think we’ll all have to get together and maybe think about arranging a group over this area.

Alex started gymnastics today and said she had a fab time. Cue her swinging from the ceiling with no fear in a week or two ;)

Been doing a bit of knitting again after really leaving the obsession alone for months. Finished a hat for Marcus in the hesfes style-ee. Trying to finish a little cardigan I started ages ago and got pissed off with cos I think I thought I was too fat for it. Tried it on again though and don’t think it looks too bad. Not that I’ve lost *any* weight since then I don’t think (actually I know) maybe the mirror is just a bit nicer! Or maybe I just don’t give a toss anymore.

Supposed to be off the path this weekend. Can’t decide whether to try and make it tomorrow evening but it would be 9pm at least before we arrive and then we’d still have to pitch the tent and calm kids down before sending them to sleep. Might just go early Saturday instead. Can’t decide. Plus need to organise some sort of food and I just can’t think straight. Want to curl up in a corner.
