A surreal life
I suppose I should apologise for not blogging, seems the done thing to do. But tbh it seems like all I ever do is apologise for not doing it, promising I’ll get better and then never doing it. Repeat till you get bored.
Blogging is really boring me, I can’t bring myself to tell the world how many times Alex got on my nerves or how many fights Marcus has started. Education is going on, under the surface sometimes but it is there. Both kids are starting to read. Alex can do it well if she doesn’t have Marcus for an audience as she just plays up then. Marcus just needs more confidence I think. Maths isn’t quite as good and probably needs some work. M is definitely a more hands on mathsy person so I need to think about how best to accomodate that. Both have huge interests in other countries and cultures so we have a lot being discussed there. And cbbc always has *something* educational doesn’t it??
For those I haven’t told, we’ve (again) decided we’ll be taking a year out from normal life and going on a round the world trip. We’ve said it before and not done anything about it, so I won’t be offended if it’s taken with a pinch of salt. The kids are hugely excited although the plan is to do it in 18 months time so about April 2008 (just realised I’ll be back in time for my 30th birthday!!!! ARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!) and so we’ve been talking lots about places they’d like to see and learning about where they are and I hope to do much more learning about it all. It would be good to have them both reading to a good level and competent in maths by then too so I have a bit of a goal I suppose to get working on it.
Life is feeling really weird at the moment. I can’t seem to get back into it, whatever it is of course. This whole year feels like a dream, I’m starting to wonder if we did actually move to Scotland and live in that gorgeous house. Seems unreal now. I imagine it’s made more wierd by coming back and seeing old friends again, it’s like we’ve never been. Not that I’ve been very good at that either, must get out more!! My computer is in the bedroom and very uncomfy to sit at so I’ve not been doing much blog reading, which always makes me feel crap, a bit like someone who is way too busy to keep up with her friends. Not like that at all, just gives me backache!! My laptop isn’t talking to my wireless card and I need to check whether it’s the cards problem (hopefully) or the laptop. Although getting a new laptop would be nice….
But once that is sorted I can blog and browse and be sociable with James.
We’ve all been ill in one way or another this week so it’s been fairly unpleasant. Barbara came round for a while on Wednesday so that was a nice break from the norm. Kids went trick or treating for the first time ever on halloween and were very impressed. I can see this one being requested each year!! We only did a few houses near us, but very profitable they were! Tonight we’re off to a bonfire party at a friends so that should be nice.
(and obviously blooging hasn’t bored me *that* much today or this wouldn’t be so long! *sigh at self*)

good to hear from you. Must get together very soon. And there’s another thing I’ve been promising for a while…
