year update

(idea shamelessly nicked from Sarah’s blog - hope you don’t mind!)

This year has been such a funny one, I really wanted to round it up in a way but couldn’t qute work out how as I can never write it as well as I think it iykwim. So anyway, at least a year update should be good as my blogging has been patchy and I think it will be a nice thing to look back on. Mostly family stuff rather than HE though!

January
January started off with a bit of despair as we struggled to see how the future would pan out with our money problems. We even thought about school for the kids so I could earn some money. But this was the month everything turned round, my brother offered James a job with a house in Scotland, a completely new start which I think we needed, so we had a mad visit up to scotland to talk things over and once that was on the cards it was a mad rush to get moved.

February
February we actually did the big move and tried to settle in with lots of money problems keeping us worrying! Some nice meals out with my brother celebrating his business and the kids getting to know their cousin a bit better. We happened upon the melrose crowd at the tail end of their week which was nice enough but since everyone was ill could have been better!

March

was when we met our home edding friend, was so glad I liked her and that we got on well as it was the only thing keeping me happy about HE up there. also took advantage of her 7 seater by going to our first home ed group with her. We had some fabulous snow and made some trips to Sheffield to keep James happy. Started thinking about the garden which proved to be a popular project in the year.

April
My mum and dad and their 2 dogs came up for my birthday and to visit my brother (they don’t see him too much due to the distance and them working.) Was a lovely week with a day off from kids, meal out to a curry house (yum!) and just nice havign some familiar faces back up. Did lots of nature stuff which was so easy up there, and some reading showing off was done to the parents! We also set up the huge trampoline in the garden which was ever so popular with all guests!

May
May started well with a cheque for over a grand from sueing the A&L!! Still haven’t done anything about the Halifax charges though. We had lots of days out to the Blue Peter Bark in the Park (first intro to sponsoring!), a car museum with lots of James bond cars and Harry Potter stuff in and to see Curious George in Edinburgh for the film week.

June
June was lovely weather and of course the annual Muddlepuddle camp in our nice new tent courtesy of Sarah. Spent a week in our old house too to sort bits and bobs out so also had family visists and days out to Magna. Marcus learned to ride his bike!

July
July was parties and friends. Nic and Ady came up and we got some lovely pics and memories. Marcus turned 6 and was introduced to the world of DS! We had football training at Falkirk which went down really well with both kids.

August
was more visitors in the form of Stella and co, gymnastics club for Alex (which didn’t last long) and me restarting my knitting hobby. We had visits to Callendar house and a trip Off the Path. Decided that Scotland wasn’t working and it was time to move on.

September
was the move back down. Not much else to report there!! Oh wasn’t that Davies’s party?? If it was then we had a lovely time there visiting Nic and catching up with lots of others. Seem to remember a gorgeous sunny day on the beach with kids managing to go for a paddle.

October
we set the date for our wedding, booked a few things and promptly forgot about it all. Started thinking about all the things we wanted from our lives which was mostly travel and living life to the full. We made it to Halloween camp which wasn’t too far away and managed to celebrate Alex’s birthday while we were there (which was handy!!)

November
was bonfire parties!

December
was a stark realisation that a) christmas was coming and I wasn’t ready and b) the wedding wasn’t much farther behind and I wasn’t ready! So lots of panic, lots of family visits, including a trip down south to the Goddards for a princess party (lots of ideas for my wedding since I’ll be such a princess!!!!! lol!) & santa visits. We rediscovered the Cars movie after seeing it in the summer and watched it loads and listened to the soundtrack loads.

And now I’m going to have a blog break. I’ve so much to do in the next 5 weeks I shall be blogging on my wedding blog only about boring stuff!! Hope to see everyone soon at the wedding and if you have had an invite from me and haven’t mentioned if you’re coming or not can I just chase you on that?? Need to know numbers asap.

feeling overwhelmed

and really struggling at the moment. I think a lot of it is wedding stress, related to the fact I have done hardly anything. I tried to finish making the invites yesterday only to get a 1/4 the way through and the printer to pack up. So went out today to get a new one only to find I can’t get it to print on the size of card. Feel like tearing my hair out.

*edit* got printer working. guess what I’m doing for the rest of the day???

Still need to sort the passports out. Tried to fill in the forms this morning and mucked it up on the first 2 attempts. Have since given up. *sigh*

Kids are just being a complete nightmare. James has completely lost it with them this morning, they just cannot live together under the same roof (kids, not James) and bicker constantly, call names and physically fight. The house is just too small and we’re on top of each other constantly. I just hate it.

I just want it all to go away. Don’t even get me started on Christmas, I’ve got James pestering me for a fucking i-pod every minute of the day, the kids talking non stop about all the stuff they’re going to get and tbh we’ve hardly got them anything. My mum, dad and brother are coming round, plus James’s dad so I’m not going to be able to breath in my house let alone cook dinner.

Someone wake me up in the spring.

ugh - bought 2 games from ebay on the 13/11. When I bought I looked at the feedback but at the time there was much more positives than negatives and decided to take a chance. In the last month there has been over 300 negative posts though. Don’t think I’ll be getting these games :(
